Purpose
As Strategy Director, Copy, you will lead the development of verbal identity, narrative strategy, and messaging architecture for global fashion, lifestyle, and culture-driven brands. Acting as a strategic and creative lynchpin, you’ll collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to set the foundation for impactful client work and ensure consistency and innovation in brand storytelling. Internally, you’ll define Invisible Dynamics’ tone of voice and oversee agency content, from social media to thought leadership and awards entries. This role demands a balance of strategic insight, creative finesse, and leadership experience.
Essential Skills
Proven expertise in strategy and creative roles within top-tier creative agencies, with a focus on global fashion, lifestyle, or culture-driven brands.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a track record of delivering impactful content across diverse channels.
Strong understanding of brand strategy, narrative development, and messaging frameworks.
Experience leading verbal identity and tone-of-voice projects.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into creative solutions.
Comfortable presenting to senior clients and internal stakeholders.
Culturally astute, with a passion for connecting brands to cultural movements and consumer behaviors.
Responsibilities
Strategic Copy Leadership
Shape the verbal identity of client brands, defining tone of voice, narrative frameworks, and messaging hierarchies that align with overall brand strategy.
Partner with the Strategy team at project inception to develop strategic insights, the strategic territory and set narrative direction, ensuring alignment with creative and commercial objectives.
Develop messaging architectures for campaigns, articulating how messages flex across channels and consumer touchpoints.
Act as the steward of messaging integrity throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring coherence from ideation through execution.
Creative Content Development
Lead the creation of compelling copy across channels, including campaign development, brand identity guidelines, digital platforms, retail experience, and marketing collateral.
Generate long-form and short-form content for Invisible Dynamics’ initiatives, including case studies, awards entries, website content, thought leadership, and social output.
Collaborate with the Strategy and Creative teams to ensure synergy between verbal and visual elements.
Maintain a high standard of creativity and precision in all deliverables, tailoring content to resonate with diverse audiences and industries.
Collaboration & Client Engagement
Act as a senior voice in client engagements, presenting narrative strategies and providing clear, compelling rationales for copy decisions.
Work across departments to align storytelling strategies with broader brand objectives.
Participate in workshops, brainstorming sessions, and project kick-offs, contributing fresh ideas and cultural insights.
Foster a culture of collaboration and mentorship within the strategy department.
Cultural Relevance & Innovation
Stay attuned to industry trends, cultural movements, and emerging platforms to inform forward-thinking strategies.
Leverage insights to drive innovative storytelling solutions that position Invisible Dynamics and its clients as leaders in their fields.
Logistical Requirements
The Strategy Director, Copy, will be based in Los Angeles with a commitment to in-person collaboration Monday through Thursday and the option to work from home on Fridays. Travel within the US and internationally may be required. Some flexibility for extended hours, including evenings and weekends, is expected when required to meet client deadlines.
